STILLING YOUR MIND
If you are experienced at practising the Primary Series, you may be familiar with the mind state that it can produce. It feels a bit like going into automatic pilot — not in a mindless and dull way, but in a deeply introspective and thoughtful way. Part of your mind becomes detached from the process of doing the postures, and you become able to observe yourself with an objective and unblinking “gaze”. One result of this is that the usual background “chatter” of thoughts in your mind disappears and is replaced by a sense of peace, stillness and tranquillity. You may also find that when you lie down to rest at the end of your practice you experience the blissful state of a mind unencumbered with thoughts. -Your mind is at ease and resting with your body, yet also fully awake and conscious.
